Skin concern
Pigmentation
Uneven patches of colour, from sun exposure, hormones or past blemishes, need careful identification before any treatment is chosen.
Pigmentation is an umbrella term covering sun-induced spots, hormonal melasma, and the marks left behind after blemishes or injury. They look similar but behave very differently, and treating the wrong one the wrong way can make it worse. That is why identification comes first.
Consultation routes often discussed include prescribed and medical-grade skincare (the backbone of most pigmentation plans), carefully selected skin peels, and strict sun protection strategy. Some pigmentation is best left alone or referred for medical review; if we think a mark needs your GP's opinion, we will tell you plainly.
