What it is
Skin boosters are injectable treatments based on soft, non-volumising hyaluronic acid, placed superficially across the skin to hydrate from within. Unlike dermal fillers, they are not designed to add shape, they are designed to improve the quality of the skin itself.
What it may help with
- Dehydrated, crepey or dull-looking skin
- Fine surface lines, particularly on cheeks and around the mouth
- Overall skin texture, softness and light reflection
- Areas that show age early, such as the neck and hands (assessed individually)
Who it may be suitable for
Adults whose main concern is skin quality rather than volume or lines of expression, often those who feel their skin looks tired or "flat" despite a good routine.
Who it may not be suitable for
Not suitable under 18, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin infection or inflammation in the area, or with certain conditions reviewed at consultation.
What to expect
After consultation and cleansing, a series of small, superficial injections is placed across the treatment area. Numbing cream can be used. The appointment is quick, and most people return to normal activities the same day, allowing for possible small injection marks.
Consultation & safety
Product choice and treatment spacing are decided at consultation based on your skin, not a menu. Full medical history and consent come first, always.
Aftercare
Keep the area clean and make-up free for 24 hours, avoid heat, saunas and hard exercise for 48 hours, and follow your written aftercare. We are contactable throughout.
Possible side effects & risks
Temporary redness, small bumps at injection points, tenderness and bruising are the most common effects and usually settle quickly. Infection and prolonged lumpiness are uncommon; all risks are covered at consultation.
