What it is

Exosomes are used here as a topical regenerative preparation, applied during and immediately after microneedling while the skin's absorption is at its highest.

Microneedling creates controlled micro-channels that prompt the skin to repair. The intention of adding a regenerative preparation at that moment is to support that repair process. It is a treatment aimed at skin quality over time rather than an immediate cosmetic change.

What it may help with

  • Overall skin quality, texture and tone
  • Dullness and tired-looking skin
  • The appearance of some scarring, assessed individually
  • Skin that has been through a lot and needs supporting rather than resurfacing

Who it may be suitable for

Adults who want to work on long-term skin health and are comfortable with a course of treatment rather than a single appointment. Best suited to people who want gradual, genuine change.

Who it may not be suitable for

Not suitable under 18, in pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active acne, infection, eczema or inflammation in the treatment area, with a history of keloid scarring, or where a medical condition or medication makes needling unsuitable. Suitability is assessed at consultation.

What to expect

Consultation and skin analysis first, so the course is planned around your skin rather than sold as a package.

On the day, numbing cream is applied and left to work. The microneedling pass is then carried out at a depth chosen for your skin and the area treated, with the regenerative preparation applied through the treatment. Expect to look pink and feel warm afterwards, much like mild sunburn, settling over a day or two.

Consultation & safety

This is a nurse-prescriber-led clinic. Your medical history, skin history and medication are reviewed before anything is offered, and you will be told honestly if a different treatment, or none at all, would serve you better.

Regenerative treatments are an evolving area. We will be straightforward with you about what is well established and what is not, and we will not overstate what any treatment can do.

Aftercare

Skin will be pink and may feel tight. Use only the products advised for the first 48 hours, no make-up for 24 hours, and daily SPF without exception. Avoid exercise, saunas, steam and swimming for 48 hours. Written aftercare and a direct contact route are provided after every appointment.

Possible side effects & risks

Common and expected: redness, warmth, tightness and light flaking for a few days after treatment.

Less common: prolonged redness, swelling, breakouts, pigment change, particularly in richer skin tones, and infection. Cold sores can be triggered in those prone to them. All of this is discussed at consultation so your decision is an informed one.

All treatments carry some degree of risk. Your practitioner will discuss potential side effects with you at consultation so you can make an informed decision. Results vary between individuals and no specific outcome can be guaranteed.
